Artists info

RYOICHI KUROKAWA (JP)

Ryoichi Kurokawa is an audiovisual artist living in Osaka (Japan). His works take on multiple forms like screening works, recordings, installation and live performance. He composes time based sculpture with digital generated materials and field recorded sources, and the minimal and the complexitiescoexist there. He accepts sound and imagery as a unit not as separately, and constructs very exquisite and precise computer based works with the audiovisual language. That shortens mutual distance, the reciprocity and the synchronization of sound and visual composition.

Born in 1978 in Osaka, Japan. In 1999, started creating video and sound works and presenting audiovisual work, video installation, and screening in various art, music and film festivals. At the same time, started performing audiovisual live and released CDs and DVDs. And also performed live-visual for Sketch Show(ex.YMO, Haruomi Hosono + Yukihiro Takahashi) at SONAR 2003 [ES] and Cybersonica/ICA[UK], and for HUMAN AUDIO SPONGE (Sketch Show + Ryuichi Sakamoto) at SONAR 2004 [ES].

VISUAL KITCHEN (BE)

Visual Kitchen is an audiovisual arts factory with many faces. What started as a collective evolved into a hub in a network of collaborations. Visual Kitchen draws its knowledge from a long track record of veejaying and performing, from the cool backrooms to the sweaty masses. As a production company it's produced music videos, live shows, commercials and co-organized audiovisual live events. Artistically Visual Kitchen takes part in the organization of the Cimatics festival, programs or books vj's and have collaborated with a variety of progressive musicians, ranging from visuals for Marc Moulin to playing a Stockhausen piece.

EAVESDROPPER (BE)

Eavesdropper - Yves De Mey started out as a drum'n'bass and breakbeat producer. After playing extensively throughout Flanders and a few releases he got asked to make a score for "Aars", a huge theatre play by Het Toneelhuis - Antwerp. One year later, he made the soundtrack for "Scratching the Inner Fields" by Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez. Since then, Eavesdropper has been very active on different levels; sound installations, scores for dance, theatre, performance and film, sound design for film and commercials, DJ-sets, live gigs and many more. He also runs the low profile label Knobsounds and collaborates with Glamor Is Undead and Visual Kitchen.

VANNO (BE)

Co-founder of Brussels Foton-collective, one half of Sendai and Bent Object. He's been active as a DJ for more than ten years and is known to cultivate a healthy obsession with subbass and freaky rhythms - be it dubstep, electro, breakbeat or techno. Resident and organizer of the famous Essential parties, resident at the Bass Boogie nights at Fuse and the man behind the Capital Beats radio show on FM Brussels. His music has been released on Foton, Backroom and Sound of Habib.
